September: Pain Awareness Month
September 11, 2011 by Molly Huff
Chronic pain affects an estimated 116 million American adults – this is more than the total affected by heart disease, cancer and diabetes combined, according to a recent Institute of Medicine story. In recognition of this potentially debilitating condition, September has been designated National Pain Awareness Month.
The American Academy of Pain Medicine has posted a collection of 21 videos of leaders from AAPM sharing information on pain, pain treatments and the importance of finding a good pain physician.
